Survivors Organizing for Liberation (SOL) and our youth project Buried Seedz of Resistance (BSEEDZ) are looking for a collectively-minded, intelligent, analytical, & highly-motivated person to serve as the Director of Sustainability. This is a full-time position and operates as one of the co-executive directors within SOL/BSeedz’s Collective Leadership Team. 


POSITION STATUS This is a full-time salaried position that will work 40 hours a week and reports to SOL Board of Directors.


ORGANIZATION SUMMARY Together, SOL & BSeedz is a statewide organization grounded deeply in community that works to end violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people in Colorado. We work within a human rights framework that employs a multi-issue analysis to end violence and oppression against all people. We are the only organization in Colorado focused specifically on ending violence within and against LGBTQ communities.


SOL’s evolving shared leadership structure is reflective of our core values of creating a culture of equality within our organization, a necessary step toward building the vibrant and healthy communities we envision, where all people are valued, safe and respected. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for daily financial management of the organization, managing government and foundation grants, monitoring the fundraising plan, and acts as a liaison with the fiscal sponsor, the Colorado Non-Profit Development Center. 


Additionally, this individual will manage other administrative duties as needed. Some job responsibilities may be negotiable depending on experience and skills.


 An ideal candidate for this job will have a passion for social justice and queer liberation, strong knowledge of and experience with administrative systems, financial management, and grant writing. They will have the ability to think flexibly, communicate effectively, carry out practical tasks as well as work with a team in a high-stress environment.


 Because the duties to be assigned are so varied, this position requires someone with an unusually diverse set of skills and attributes, with particular emphasis on strong quantitative and analytical skills and talents. Other desirable qualities include the ability to hold and synthesize multiple perspectives, cross-sectoral and cross-cultural competencies, holds and understands value of youth leadership and development, basic computer savvy, the ability to work alone and in partnership, adaptability, high energy, warmth, humor and a commitment to service. Applicants should have several years of professional experience and be adept at organizing their work and the work of an organization, have practical experience in making things happen, and be confidential when handling sensitive information.


The salary for this position is $43,500 per year, plus expenses and a generous benefits package. A flex-time schedule of 40 hours per week, plus periodic travel is required. • Strong demonstrated administrative, financial management, grant writing and organizational development skills.

• Computer proficiency in word processing, spread sheets, and internet.

• Coordinate and oversee government and foundation grants including: grant research, writing, reporting, prospecting, and billing. 


• Coordinate and oversee meeting requirements of government and foundations grants including preparing financial and narrative reports. 


• Oversee and manage daily financial management of organization including the monitoring of accounts and daily operations including cash flow, activity and expense tracking and providing financial analysis and oversight to the board the Leadership Team. 


• Monitor organization’s fundraising plan, working with the Advisory Board, Leadership Team and Development Committee to ensure implementation and adjustments as necessary. 


• Assist with special event planning, direct mail appeal, phone-bank, and other fundraising activities as needed. 


• Maintain relationships with the Center for Nonprofit Development Center, state institutions and financial carriers. 


• Other administrative or technical duties as required.
